Abstract

The present article discusses the actuality of the sixties and seventies in Argentina. There is not a single series in this past but events, actions and meanings that break up any presupposed uniformity. It also analyzes a vocabulary ("springtime of peoples", "liberation") to mark plurality, and even the mismatching of meanings. A rereading of Oscar Terán's Nuestros años sesenta, allows an exploration of this epoch which highlights the penetration of different times and a dimension of confl icts and fractures, avoiding such clichés as "the juvenile adventure" and he equivocal understandings of "liberation."
