About the Journal
Prismas. Revista de historia intelectual is an academic journal which began publication in 1997 and has continued to be published annually on an uninterrupted basis ever since. During its 23 years in circulation, the journal’s goal has been to expand knowledge in Latin America within the field of intellectual history, congregating specialists interested in the history of ideas and culture at a regional level. The journal has given itself the triple task of spreading the academic production of Argentine and Latin American researchers; disseminating conceptual debates generated in the field of intellectual history internationally; and publicising the academic and intellectual initiatives carried out by various groups or institutions (including the Center for Intellectual History).
The journal consists of various sections which allow for the translation, dissemination and construction of different types of texts which go beyond the traditional submission of articles. These include the publication of intellectual debates, thematic dossiers and book reviews.
The magazine is governed by an international advisory board, composed of prestigious figures from the discipline; administered by an editorial board, made up of researchers from the center; a rotating editor, chosen every three years among the members of the editorial board; two journal managers; and three book review editors. In 2010, Prismas began to publish online in SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and in Redalyc. Alongside its print edition, the digital version is divided into 2 issues.
