This paper discusses Roy Hora’s recent article, “17 October 1945: rethinking the making of the Peronist political bond”, published in Prismas n° 28
(2024), that questions October 17th as a foundational milestone of Peronism and proposes a reinterpretation of the electoral support received by Perón in the elections of 1946 and 1951 and of the political bond that united the leader with the masses throughout his first governments. To do so, it uses the historiography of recent years on early Peronism, as well as Perón’s speeches and journalistic sources.
